American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Custody

An Palestinian-American teenager after completing nine months in imprisonment by Israel without being charged gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials applauded Mohammed's liberation.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

In a statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment over several months."

US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership has no higher priority than the safety and security of US citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to US authorities and the White House, demanding more be done for his freedom.

The father, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.

The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard regarding the treatment through judicial records.

The teenager remained lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and murder.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by radical settlers amid clashes last July.

During that period, military authorities reported officials were investigating information regarding a civilian had died.

Both young men were employed together within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.

No indictments occurred for the cousin's murder.

"We expect the American government to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
