Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions towards young women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
