Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the couple.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to express about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he could not remember "any day without mirth".
"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" connected to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

After the deaths, public individuals offered divergent comments.
Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several public figures.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the statements as "disturbing" and suggested they demonstrated a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan finished by remarking that an associate ought to have stepped in when the choice to speak on the passing was made.
