Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the US has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
