Manchester United Set to Sign German Striker Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with six months remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing is viewed as a major coup for the Women’s Super League side.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated since she appeared to be fighting back tears while applauding the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading forwards. According to multiple sources, all the paperwork for the move are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost the Forward Line
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a significant uplift to United’s attacking options. She has been highly reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven straight seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
