Previous BBC Consultants Undergo MPs' Questioning Following Claims of Prejudice in Unauthorized Memorandum
We start with queries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, that chairs the panel.
She opens by providing details to the unauthorized memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I simply desire it neutral, unbiased and just," he says.
In response to a query if he considers the BBC is systematically partial, he answers: "Absolutely not. To be clear, a great deal the BBC produces is top-tier - both documentary and fictional shows."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."
Another ex-adviser BBC adviser examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it has a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on dynamic and complex topics.
"Did the BBC prepared to have a thorough dialogue and exchange and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, indeed, they were."
