Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Honors.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Year of High Performance
Across the season, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.
She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
