Jennifer Lawrence has declared that she finds it inappropriate fitting to comment publicly regarding the Trump administration, worried it could worsen divisive discussions and further divisions throughout the United States.

‘I’m Unsure If It’s Wise’, Notes the Actress

In a recent interview, she commented, “During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was acting frantically like a chicken with my head cut off. But experience has shown, over multiple voting cycles, public figures fail to influence whatsoever on electoral choices.”

She continued, “So then what am I doing? I’m just expressing personal views on an issue that’s going to worsen tensions tearing the nation apart.”

Shifting Views

The actress has admitted freely about voting for both Republican and Democratic contenders throughout her life. Raised by conservative Republicans in Kentucky, she supported the Republican nominee in the 2008 election before joining the left-leaning politics and explaining she recognized during Obama’s administration that voting Republican was voting against her individual liberties as a woman.

Earlier Remarks

Earlier in her career, she remarked that Trump winning the presidency could represent “the end of the world” and endorsed the Democratic candidate in the 2020 election. More recently, she voiced her backing to Kamala Harris, “since I feel she’s a strong contender and I trust that she will do whatever she can to protect women’s health rights.”

Industry Position

Jennifer Lawrence was supported by many in the entertainment industry in her rejection of Trump as a presidential contender, but the minimal impact stars have over the voting intentions was emphasized by his election win.

“The second term feels different,” commented she regarding his leadership. “Since he stated his intentions. We understood his record for the previous administration. He was transparent. And that’s what we chose.”

“It’s refreshing,” she said, regarding the need to set aside self-consciousness. “I mean, I sometimes think where I’m like, How exactly do I differ between me and a prostitute? But it isn’t a major concern.”
