Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.
“It has a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians
The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

Creation and Launch
Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The track features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.
The group managing the project have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.
“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative commented. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The context in the region was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings said to be in ruins or severely impacted.
“In that context, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is above all raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”
The track is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
