Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
